General introduction

EMS light-Nordic is a Nordic project aiming at supporting the sustainable development in small communities in the Nordic Countries. The main aim of the project is to increase the level of environmental protection and competitive strength for the small and medium sized enterprises.

The project takes place at the Faroe Islands, Iceland and Åland Islands and is based on a close cooperation between enterprises, company associations and environmental authorities. The cooperation is established through the construction and implementation of theEnvironmental Management System Light: EMS Light-Nordic

The project is carried out on behalf of the working group Small Communities under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
